St. Joseph's School Aims


1     To provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for pupils, staff and visitors to
            our school by fostering a sense of pride and identity and promoting positive
            relationships.

2         To promote an ethos of achievement and ensure the highest possible standards of
            attainment through having high expectations, meeting the needs of all our pupils and
            celebrating their success.

3          To achieve the highest possible standards of behaviour and attendance through valuing
            each child's attainments and using praise appropriately to enhance self esteem.

4           To provide a broad balanced curriculum, in line with Authority and 5 - 14 National
             Guidelines delivered in an interesting manner to encourage active learning.

5            To build positive partnerships between home, school and the wider community to
              enhance the quality of the children's learning and to promote a healthy lifestyle
              following the principles of a Health Promoting and New Community School.

6            To support all staff and provide opportunities for professional development through
               teamwork and self-evaluation.

7            To promote the teachings of the Catholic Church in co-operation with the Catholic
               Education Commission and close liaison with all three local parishes.
