SHROVE TUESDAY IN PRIMARY 1/2
RABBIE'S
BAIRNS
On Monday 29th January
Primary 6 hosted a Burn's Supper for eighty guests in
the Church Hall. The meal, speeches and evening of
entertainment were all delivered by the talented pupils
of Miss Mackay's class. Here are three accounts of the
evening;-
" I played Katie, Tam's
wife, in the Tam O'Shanter play. Katie is a working wife
who is fed up of her husband's drinking and staying out
late with his friends, I specially enjoyed wearing the
costume and waving the rolling pin and shouting insults
at John who played Tam. I felt in charge and enjoyed the
experience when I saw the scared expression on John's
face."
By Emma
"I sang the Uist Tramping
Song in a group of four girls and I was a witch in Tam
O'Shanter. Later I had to sing solo Speed Bonnie Boat
and I was so nervous, but everyone said I sang sweetly."
by Natalie
"I played Tam, the main
character in the play. He is irresponsible and likes to
drink with his friends and sweet-talk the barmaid. I had
trouble walking with the horse when I was being chased
by the witches. When everyone clapped at the end I knew
I had done well."
